Carolinas Classic All-Star Basketball

Co-sponsored by the NCCA, the Carolinas Classic All-Star Games showcase All-Stars from North and South Carolina, and features both men’s and women’s games. The NC/SC Games resulted from the leadership of the South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association Executive Director, Keith Richardson, and the NCCA's Executive Director Phil Weaver.   Begun in 1999, Winthrop College first hosted the games in conjunction with the South Carolina Intrastate Games.   NC/SC Basketball is played after the two states have concluded their high school championships in March.  The Classic relocated to Wilmington in 2018, and has been played at Hoggard HS.

ROCK HILL, S.C. April 8th, 2025— Visit York County in partnership with both the Rock Hill School District & Fort Mill School District will be hosting The Carolinas’ Classic All-Star Basketball Games March 19th – 21st, 2026 with practices happening across the county at local high schools, and the game taking place at Catawba Ridge High School.

This major high school basketball event will feature young athletes who were invited due to their success on the hardwood for their local school teams in both North Carolina & South Carolina. Each state will have selected a boys & girls team from their respective state coaching associations (North Carolina Coaches Association & South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association).

Once teams have been selected, players will arrive and have a busy schedule that celebrates their accomplishments but also benefits the local community. Players will visit elementary schools to speak and inspire the future generation of athletes, and they will have a chance to relish their moment with group outings to local attractions to team build before their All-Star games.

“Visit York County is excited to partner with the Fort Mill and Rock Hill School Districts to bring back this prestigious event. Aside from the impact to our hotel and restaurant partners, this event provides charitable work and a greater spotlight of high school basketball to our community” – Andy Clinton, CEO & President of Visit York County
